The Sackheimer Gate was built 1853 and like some of the other of the historic city gates of Königsberg it was initially decorated with motives of German generals. Today the gate is located at the busy Moscow Boulevard intersection which leads to the Russian capital some 1,200 kilometres/750 miles away.
