This bridge was originally built as the Emperor’s Bridge, Kaiserbrücke, in 1905. It was destroyed in the battles of World War II in 1945. In 2005 it was rebuilt with great similarity to the pre war bridge. It was a part of the city jubilee that year which also gave the bridge its new name.
